Wick Conversion (Locs to Wicks) is a transformation service that combines multiple standard-size locs into larger, uniform wicks for a bold, clean, and low-manipulation look. During this service, your existing locs are carefully grouped into new, larger sections and professionally merged to create consistent wick sizing and a balanced shape across the entire head. The goal is to maintain the health of your scalp and locs while delivering a strong, seamless wick foundation. Your appointment typically includes a thorough cleanse and prep (to remove buildup and ensure the hair is ready to combine), precise section mapping, and the merging process using a method best suited to your hair and loc maturity (crochet/combining, wrapping, and/or root anchoring as needed). Because wicks are thicker and carry more weight, special attention is given to tension control, parting cleanliness, and long-term durability—especially around the hairline and crown. This service is ideal for clients with mature locs who want fewer, thicker locs without starting over.
